BAD MOMS (no spoiler)

I have been wanting to see this movie forever. A bunch of us planned on seeing it at our own screening but that feel through because well....we are moms and everyone is busy. I did end up seeing it thought two days in a row. Yes...I saw it twice. I laughed just as much the second time as I did the first!!

The first day I went with my friend Christy, MIL and she invited some fun friends as well. We went to Mexican and then the movie. It was GREAT! Laughed so hard I thought I might pee myself.

The second day I finally talked my friend Megan into going. Cassie and I went and picked her up and away we went. It was interesting because the first time I saw it I was not going to take Cassie but then I realized I have to let go a little because in a month she is 18. She probably hears worse at school. Actually I know she does.

I laughed just as much the second time as I did the first!

Now lets get to the nitty gritty of this blog!!

I loved this movie because it really showed that no mom is perfect. NO MOM!! That everyone has dirt on them in some way or another. It also shows how much us moms care about our kids and try to do our best. Not the "best" of someone else's standards but to OUR best! It shows you no matter what your kid is doing, even when they drive you crazy... that we still love them very much! It even showed that realisticly  we should be not judging others. We don't know what's going on in their lives.

Now this may not be a God movie and maybe a lot of Christians wouldn't go to this movie (or maybe they would....I am not judging) but it really showed me some similarities.

Who knows I will probably be judged for writing this but just know that we all have different views on things. I took some of what I saw and laughed at it because I could relate to it in the movie and thought about it in the Christian sense too.

Treat others as you would want to be treated. Lets try and stop judging. I know I do it too and I am always working on it. Does it matter if you bring donut holes to a bake sale or you spent hours making cupcakes yourself? As long as the money is going to your kids right? I am not saying that those beautiful cupcakes didn't take you a long time and that you aren't awesome for it but the person who is working a lot and maybe who doesn't have time to make cupcakes instead  grabs the donut holes is just as amazing.

Lets stop judging. I mean seriously none of us like to be judged. We all know how it feels to be judged in life. None of us has escaped judgment I assure you.

Being Vulnerable and Real and Raw is okay! Personally I love my friends who can tell me their real stuff. It makes me feel more normal. I feel more connected to them. I even feel like I have a deeper friendship because they are willing to share with me their REALNESS and RAWNESS. If you aren't that way though....I get that too. Not gonna judge!

We all love our children. We all do it in different ways too. If you think about it though and look at all your friends whom you love dearly and who love you dearly......they ALL came from different backgrounds and were raised differently. That's what makes us unique. We love our children we just love them in different ways. Even if its the ones who loves them enough to give them up so they can be loved by someone else even more so.

I really loved the message in this movie. To be honest I loved that I could laugh at situations too. I saw myself in so many of them. In the end though....we are all bad moms. In the sense of NON of us are perfect. Its just not going to ever happen. I know I will keep trying my best but that's all I can ever do is MY best.

Hope I don't get judged just by this blog:)

Paper Plate kind of Day

Today has been a paper plate kind of day. That is literally one step higher than a Pizza night for me:) MIL and I have been busy today with packing, permits for construction, etc etc.

It was a good day. Actually I got to spend it mainly with my MIL (Mother in Law). Love spending time with her because well...its easy. We talk, laugh and sometimes just drive without talking. That last part usually doesn't happen that often just because well...I am a talker! She probably sits there and listens more than talk ha!

We had a lot of errands to run today. Some of the stuff was 50 minutes away just because of where we are. We ran into one of our friends though which was neat and had a moment to chat with her. HELEN WE LOVE YOU! Its nice when everyone has a busy life but you make time to see each other when you bump into each other. Not just a friendly hi but more of a hey sit down lets talk kind of hi! Love that about where we live.

We are moving furniture and packing to get ready for our move to our new house. First land and house we have ever bought that we actually own. Makes me feel like an adult. I mean I thought I was so cool when I bought an expensive fridge but this really made me an adult. Come to think of it lots of things make me feel like an adult. I know...I am weird but seriously! When we got the fridge I felt like an adult. When we bought a half of cow to put in the freezer I felt like an adult. When Jackson graduated High School this last year I felt like an adult. I guess at 40 I have to just figure that I am adult. Not that I want to be all the time.

Anyways its a paper plate kind of day. MIL and I stopped at Landis which is this little nursery that also sells fruits and veggies. I said looky here this would be our dinner. And it is. Man I love grilling. Its easy, less of a mess, less dishes (especially when its a paper plate day!!!!) and well it just tastes so good!

I am stopping this blog at this very moment because my daughter just walked in and said what are we having for dinner? Seriously she just walk right past the plates of food that are sitting there. Please....someone tell me that my Senior in High School that is actually a straight A student is smarter than that! HA!

Man I love my kids! Well I guess I should go eat but I have been waiting for MIL and the boys to come in. Maybe its not just a paper plate night but it might be a movie night. I am thinking Jungle Book sounds good. Homework is already done so YEAH! Maybe we can relax for one night.

I hope that you all are having a paper plate kind of night. Sometimes its awesome. Heck all the time its awesome! Have a great night! Remember to subscribe to get daily blogs in your email.

Spring Break Part 2

When my mother was pregnant with me my Biological father passed away. My mother remarried when I was an infant and I was adopted by my dad Vaughn. The most amazing thing about it was Larry's family (my biological father), my dads family and my mothers family stayed connected. Many of my aunts and uncles invite each other 30 years later to each others houses from the opposite sides. I love that my parents took the time in my life to see and stay connected to all sides of the family. After visiting in Spokane Cassie and I decided to make an impromptu visit to my families town which is Centralia, Wa. It was another 6 hour drive from where we were already visiting but it was so well worth it.

The thing about impromptu visits is no one knows you are coming. Usually when we all get together its planned so we have time to get everyone together. My biological Father Larry Ray (that's how they got my name LaRae) had 7 brothers and sisters. My mother had 2 sisters. The really neat thing is both of my Grandmas from both sides were best friends. I know any of you if you had a best friend would find it amazing if your child married your best friends child. What a way to connect the family.

First stop was to surprise my Uncle Mike. He had no idea we would be showing up. Heck I didn't know till that day either. He had just had open heart surgery. I wanted so bad to surprise him because I hadn't seen him in years even though we keep in contact on Facebook. His daughter Marie helped me set it up to surprise him. You should of seen his face when we walked in. I am so glad he is doing well. I really worried. Heart Surgery is no joke. Hugging my cousins were amazing too. I love Marie we have always been close. Stephen is too shy haha!

We went up to my families town and got a hotel. The next two days were a blur. I was suppose to meet my Grandpa on my biological fathers side for breakfast. It ended up being my grandpa, Vivian, My two uncles and their wives and my cousin. We never do anything small lol. It was so good to catch up with them that we decided to meet again for breakfast the day we were leaving. I had so many more houses still to go too. I loved seeing their faces. It warmed my heart instantly.

I went to my Uncle Mikes house next. He was my grandpas brother. Watching him rock in his recliner made me think of my Grandpa who had passed. This is on my others side. You know I think I cried three times while I was there. Hugging him was like hugging my mom. I miss my mom and grandpa a lot. Its nice to have someone who reminds me so much of them. He is a pastor also and that is always comforting because we could talk freely about God and our beliefs. Side note. The first time I ever felt God was at his church when I was little.

Next stop was my Aunt Cathy's house and all my pregnant cousins. They wouldn't let me take pictures of them but they were all there. I did have one cousin there too who I love who isn't pregnant but she is getting married in Sept so who knows what's next. We had a great time. Loved visiting and being with my second cousins too. I laughed a lot as my 4 year old second cousin told me that she didn't want to speak English and she will do is later. Mind you that's the only language she knows. Cassie fell in love with their puppies while we were there and oh boy did I know we would end up going home with one. Took three days for Ryan and I to really discuss it but by the day we left we had Sebastian in tow with us.

By the time Cassie and I got to the hotel we were beat. We had met up with over 20 of our family members. I texted my hubby and told him about our trip even though I had sent pictures throughout the day. I was so thrilled he had talked me into going. I really needed it. Cassie and I zonked out but fell asleep with smiles on our faces.

The next morning we met up with my mothers side of the family. My mom had two sisters. Jacque had 3 boys and Val had a boy and a girl. We were able to all get together but just missing out on 2 cousins which was amazing. I am glad that my family is close. I am the oldest grandchild on both of these sides so all of my cousins are younger than me. I always tell them they have to respect me! I think they just boss me around as much as I do them. Lots of hugs and more hugs and more hugs were given. Cassie was able to hang out with her cousins which was nice that she finally had some kids her age around. Kaeden and Cassie I swear would be BFF if we lived closer.

After we went to one of my cousins and hung out and talked and talked. I never tire of talking ha! I had promised Cassie we would go to the movie Cinderella so along the way I invited people. It was cool because we ended up with 3 sides of my family there. Aunts, cousins, cousin in laws and us. It was GREAT! I love seeing the faces of people who are so dear in my life. By the time the movie was over it was almost 11. Cassie and I were so tired but we followed my Bre to see where her work was. Once we got to the hotel we were out like a light.

I didn't even want to get up the next morning but we had too. I called Ryan and told him I wanted to move to Washington. I miss my family so so so much. I feel so at home with them. Cassie and I got ready to go and meet my Grandpa and Grandma for breakfast before our long drive back. Usually we stay with my Grandpa or Aunts but since it was impromptu we decided a hotel would be better. As usual many more showed up. My Uncles Bob and David, my Aunt Janet, my cousins Sarah, Laura, Brittney, Courtney, and Laura's hubby. It was a full table.

I just never wanted to leave. I missed them all so much. After lots of talking (mostly on my part ha) and lots of hugs and pictures Cassie and I were headed home. But wait! We had to go and pick up our new puppy Sebastian. Many hours later and many, many songs later we were home. It was a great week! I wish it never ended. I cant wait till we go back in Sept with all of us! Its going to be an adventure. I had to get back though....as the 6 of us are going on our first family Cruise to Cabo in just a few short days. Man I have to unpack and pack us all up again! Here we come Mexico!

Mother Son Day and some Chicks

My 14 year old Josh and I

When you have four teenagers you have to take advantage of the days you only have one child. Ryan took our three that are in braces to their appointments 2 hours away so Josh and I had our own day. It was pretty fun!

I am 5'10'' and he is 6'2'' at 14!!!!

We picked up our new chicks today

Love this one she looks grumpy

Sleeping babies

I asked him to smile he said he wouldn't.

Of course he started too but wouldn't show me

Yep I am going to catch it! I am!

Yep got it! Kind of but good enough for me

Decided to be a cool mom and let him dye his hair black but its not permanent
I am definitely a messy dyer lol.

Final results. In the sun it looks blue though so I hope it washes out fast

It was a good day. I got a lot of smiles and we talked. Sometimes its hard to get teenage boys to talk. I find that if they are trapped in the car with you conversation ensues :) I cant wait to have this one on one day with all my kids. Its rare with the busy house that we have but I think its important. He got to be the lucky one today since he is the only one not in braces. Actually I feel like I am the lucky one being able to have this one on one time! Love my kids

Fun Fun Fun and so many laughs....Whisper Challenge

Its just so funny!!We had so much fun I wish we would of done this before! We as a family did the Whisper Challenge. Have you ever heard of it? OMG its so funny!!

Let me explain what the challenge is first. You have two people (we did our whole family but just kept switching ppl. They even wanted to keep playing after we had finished with all 6 of us) and one wears a set of noise cancelling headphones. You can also just use normal headphones and turn up the sound a little. The other person will "whisper" a saying to the person with the headphones on. The person with the headphones on has to try and tell them what they think they are saying. Ok Its just so funny. Some of the things you THINK you are "HEARING" but its no where near what was really said. Here....look at our first one. This one is our two fourteen year olds Jason and Joshua. I swear you will start laughing especially half way through when a "guest" shows up midway and makes EVERYONE in the house laugh!

So then Cassie and Joshua did the Challenge. You can totally tell that Cassie is our studious one because of what she "hears". LOL! I think she might have a secret person she likes or something too or one of our words just always sounds like a guy we all know:)

Ok I had to laugh because Jackson and Ryan came home to the four of us doing the Whisper Challenge. As you can see they were still in their gear (bow hunting coyotes away from our animals). They wanted to change but I made them stay in it because I thought they looked cute ha! I laughed so hard on one of the things that Jackson said and how Ryan responds. I couldn't help but have the screen jiggle a little because I was laughing so hard. Excuse the fact that I am coughing in some of the videos also, I am still recovering from my hospital stay.

Then the kids wanted to do Ryan and I. They did our questions for us since I had been doing all of theirs. We had so much fun and I only slightly cared that I look a mess. PS....For those of you who know I have a Rare Disease called Cushings which makes you gain excess of amounts of weight from Cortisol. Since being in Remission I have lost a lot of weight BUT because I was put back in the hospital and given a lot of steroids for breathing treatments and Bronchitis....I am back to being REALLY puffy moon face. So just know....I must love you guys a lot because I don't normally video when this is happening to me ha! XOXOXOXO ..........

So as you can see we had a lot of fun! We actually have more videos but I just showed one of each of us. We had one of Cassie and I. Also Jack and Josh wanted to do one. Maybe I will put those up if you guys leave in the comments you want to see it.

I highly recommend doing this with your family. Its fun! Its free! Its entertaining and the kids really get into it. :) I hope you enjoyed watching our crazy family.

Please subscribe to this blog. I cant tell if you have but It would be nice:) I do a giveaway every month also. Gotta love Gift cards! Have a Blessed Day!
